Hints for Searching our website
There are three inquiry forms for searching for information on this website. These search forms search different data, so all four must be used for a complete search.
1) Mikes Index: In Mikes Index, you can research periodicals that Mike has methodically indexed from journals over the past 25 years. FVGS may no longer have the journal that you may find of interest, for archiving this type of material is difficult to accomplish. Hopefully the journal article of interest can be located at a public library.
2) Local Names Index: In Local Names Index, you can search our publications for surnames of interest. This search attempts to cover publications that are local to the adjacent four county area and focuses on cemeteries, church records, local newspapers, and other genealogical documents indexed by FVGS.
3) General Site Search: The General Site Search box in the page header is used to search all blogs, pages, articles, and PDF documents on this website. Note that some PDF documents are only accessible by FVGS Members even though they can be searched by anyone. If you click a link in the results and you see a large black padlock, it means that is a Member-Only document. We welcome you to join the Fox Valley Genealogical Society to access everything on our website. Member-Only PDF documents include:
