April 12 Reading Between the Lines of the City Directory

The city directory provides an opportunity to discover our ancestors’ historical context. Pictures, advertisements, maps of the city and many more items are often included. The audience will be encouraged to understand each directory’s unique qualities. Reverse directories will also be discussed. Every directory available for a given ancestor/family should be consulted.
